CYRIACUS IZUEKWE
The outing ceremony (Iputa Ogbo) of Ifunanya Age Grade Ibughubu, Umuchu in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, which is coming up on 5th January, 2023, is gaining momentum following the nomination of a business mogul, Ozo Ezenwata, Chief Raphmoore Ekekwe, as the group’s Mayor.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Ozo Ezenwata, as Chief Ekekwe is popularly known, will be bestowed the honour in recognition of his contributions for the development of the age grade, Umuchu town and humanity in general.
This was the decision of the Ifunanya Age Grade as led by the amiable Chairman, Ogbuehi Calistus Ebeagwu, who confirmed that Chief Ekekwe will be crowned as the Mayor at the venue of the event at St Andrew Anglican Church, Ibughubu Umuchu.
The ceremony will be witnessed by the Chief Special Guest of Honour, His Excellency, Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo and his entourage.
Other top Special Guests included the Interim Chairman of Aguata Local Government Area, Prince (Dr) Chibueze Ofobuike, the highly reverend Umuchu traditional ruler, HRM, Igwe Godson O. Ezechukwu and the President General of Umuchu Town Union, Sir Charles Ezenwabasili, including his business associates and captains of Industry under the Chairmanship of Sir Engr. Benchucks Amarube.
This will not be the first time the Umuchu people are honouring Chief Ekekwe. On 30th December, 2021, revered Traditional Ruler of Umuchu town, Igwe Godson O. Ezechukwu, gave Ekekwe one of the highest chieftaincy titles as Ugomba 1 of Umuchu, which automatically made him a member of Igwe Umuchu’s cabinet.
Chief Raphmoore Ekekwe is a successful businessman and had ventured into many businesses and companies, one of which is Holy Child Pharmaceuticals Limited, which head office is located in Aba, Abia State.
He is a grassroots man who is connected and loved by his people because of his milk of human kindness and humility.
Based on his early success in the business world, he was given the chieftaincy title as Nwatakwochaa, which literally means when a child washes his hands properly, he will eat and dine with the elite.
Chief Ekekwe has touched many lives both within Umuchu and outside including the old men and women, youths, friends and relations, whom he has assisted by providing both their health and materials needs over years.
Indeed, it will be a great event as his friends, age grade mates, business associates within and outside Anambra State are expected at the event. The people of Umuchu town applaud Ozo Ezenwata Raphmoore Ekekwe as he adds another title as Ifunanya Age Grade Mayor in Umuchu to his numerous titles.
