For years the Igbo ethnic group seemed not have an Apex sociopolitical organisation that pioneers the political affair of the Igbo in Nigeria, but that may have come to end following the formation a new group in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the new group, known as Igbo National Stakeholders Assembly, INSA, was formed in Lagos with  branches across the States and outside Nigeria.

The group is led by Chief John Uche as the National President, Chief Uba Lawrence as Deputy President, the Vice President is Pastor Ugochukwu Ugwa while Barrister Friday Okike is the General Secretary with Mrs. Lizzy Anowai is the National Women Leader.

Unveiling INSA, Chief Uche explained that the Igbo had other sociocultural organisations such as Ohanaeze, which basically deals with the culture and tradition of Ndigbo.

But INSA is totally different because it is an Igbo sociopolitical organisation which has been lacking and has affected the Igbo politically in Nigeria hence the formation of the group.
He explained that the group is now the highest Igbo sociopolitical organisation, which will discuss and negotiate the political future of Ndigbo in Nigeria.

Chief Uche said they have already started inauguration of State executives across the States in Nigeria including FCT Abuja and have set up a powerful committee to reach out the North and Southwest for Igbo Presidency for 2023.

He said that the group was well accepted in the Eastern part of Nigeria during the inauguration of Imo State Chapter on 21st November; it was well attended as the Igbo have been clamouring for the formation of such group to level up with other ethnic groups in Nigeria politically.

He said they will embark on visits to the South East Governors and other States Governors outside Igbo land to discuss fair share of Igbo in line of the motto of INSA base on Justice, equity and fairness.

Chief John Uche was the founder and first President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Lagos State and member of the Igbo powerful decision making body known as Imeobi, which comprises eminent people in Igbo land.
