A human rights activist and the National President, Ambassadors of Peace and Enlightenment Foundation (APEF), Comrade Saviour Iche, has blasted the Igbo leaders in Lagos State and described them as shameless set of people.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Comrade Saviour Iche stated this on the heels of demolitions and fighting among Ndigbo over leadership going on in Lagos State.
Comrade Iche said that the so called Igbo leaders have turned themselves into slaves following politicans and cannot speak for the Ndigbo in Lagos State because they have sold themselves shamelessly.
He noted that reasonable number of Ndigbo were seriously affected by the ongoing demolition in Amuwo Odofin and Trade Fair, but the so called Igbo leaders have been silent and could not speak out against the demolitions.
Comrade Iche stated that it is painful  that those self acclaimed Igbo leaders have compromised so much to the extent that they can’t to speak for Ndigbo because of commitment.
He rhetorically asked those Igbo leaders to mention one single thing any of them in Ohanaeze or the Igbo Speaking Community has done and achieved for Ndigbo in Lagos State.
“What you will be hearing is that they went to the Police, DSS, and Courts while fighting among themselves, when Ndigbo are passing through some pains and intimidation with nobody to speak for them” Iche said.
He stated that there is nothing the young people will learn from the leaders unlike other tribes like Yoruba and Hausa, whose leaders speak for and protect their interests.
Comrade Iche advised the leaders to retract their steps and have change of attitude because they no longer command respect and other tribes are mocking them because of their conduct in the State.
He also noted that most Igbo leaders are afraid to call for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu because they have compromised and cannot speak to the authority because of selfish interests.
He stated that it is rather unfortunate that it is Sowore, who is from another tribe, that is mobilizing and calling for the release of Nnamdi Kanu while the so called Igbo leaders keep silent because of committment.
