Igbo Speaking Community’s Board of Trustee (BOT) led by their Chairman, Dr Jonathan Nnaji, has commenced sitting  to look into the recent crowning of two Ezendigbo in two communities in Otto- Awori LCDA.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the Ezendigbo in Otto-Awori LCDA in Lagos State, Eze Dr. Peter Olikenyi Omenife, wrote a petition to the Igbo Speaking Community’s Board of Trustees (BOT) over the crowning of additional two Ezendigbo by the President, Sunday Udeh, in the communities and he sought for the intervention of the BOT.

in the petition, Eze Omenife alleged that the crowning of Uchenna Dike and Kenneth Anayo as Ezendigbo in Ketu and Imude communities in Otto-Awori was a blatant disregard for the established protocols and traditions of their people and also a potential source of confusion and conflict in Otto-Awori LCDA and informed the BOT that the Igbo Speaking community in the LCDA outrightly rejected them.

The president of the Igbo Speaking community, Chief Sunday Udeh, insisted that the crowning of the two Ezendigbo in Ketu and Imude communities was in order in line with the constitution of Igbo Speaking community.

Udeh stated: “Whatever the Executive members did concerning the Ezeship was in line with the Constitution of Igbo Speaking Community and the two Ezes in question are the authentic Ezendigbo in the two communities.”

Thus, the BOT waded into the matter and asked the warring parties to present their documents to prove their claims. This was confirmed by the Chairman of BOT, Dr Jonathan Nnaji, who stated that the BOT has started looking into the matter and has asked the parties to present their documents which they have done.

Dr Nnaji stated that the parties involved were invited for interviews in his office and they are cooperating with the BOT and all attended the sitting which was headed by Dr Nnaji.

He explained that the BOT will look into the matter and come up with a verdict in the interest of peace and Justice in the area. He urged the parties to continue to maintain peace in the area.
