Igbo Speaking Community Pays Condolence Visit To Late Iwuanyanwu’s Family

The president of the Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos State, Chief Sunday Udeh, has described the late President  General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide,  Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, as a forthright Igbo leader, who served Ndigbo diligently till he passed on recently. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that Chief Udeh, popularly known as Onwa Ndigbo,  stated this at Ajao Estate in Lagos during the condolence visit to Iwuanyanwu family through his daughter, Dr Mrs. Nwadiuto Iheakanwa nee Iwuanyanwu, Managing Director of Champion Group of Newspapers.

 

Chief Udeh paid the visit with some of his executives members, Ezendigbo and  chairmen across the LCDAs including some critical stakeholders of the Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos State.

During the visit, Chief Udeh presented a condolence letter on behalf of Igbo Speaking Community, Lagos State duly signed by Chief Udeh and General Secretary,  Engr Chuks Odimegwu, to the family which stated:

TRIBUTE TO A FALLEN HERO AND LEADER

“It is with deep sorrow the President General, Chief Sunday Udeh, Executives and members of Igbo Speaking Community in Lagos write to commiserate with the entire Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu Family over the death of our National Leader, mentor and President General. Ohanaeze Ndigbo worldwide.”

 

“Ahaejiagamba, it is very sad that you left at a time Ndigbo worldwide earnestly need your wise counsel and leadership as you have shown in the period of time you steered the leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo as President General.”

 

“Ahaejiagamba, your quality leadership to Ndigbo has caused us Ndigbo to always think of peace, unity and togetherness amongst ourselves.”

 

“You were one of the best brains to have come out of the south-east. Your organizations and investments gave employments to thousands of Ndigbo and Nigerians at large.”

 

“Today, Ndigbo are singing the song of “Aku ruolo” as a result of your wise counseling and leadership on the need to develop the south-east region for a better tomorrow.”

“Ahaejiagamba, Ndigbo will forever miss you. You have travelled to the great beyond and the Igbo Speaking Community in Lagos wish you well and pray your soul rest in perfect peace until we meet to part no more.”

Some members of the delegation expressed their regret over Iwuanyanwu’s death and said it was the decision of God and no human can question Him for taking him away at this period when his wealth of ideas and experience are needed. They lauded late Iwuanyanwu for his contributions to the welfare of Ndigbo and indeed Nigeria in general.

 

In response, Dr Mrs. Nwadiuto Iheakanwa thanked the Igbo Speaking Community and the leadership for coming to honour his late father, who was passionate about Ndigbo and their welfare.  She stated that the visit has demonstrated that indeed Ndigbo recognized her father’s contributions when he was alive.

 

She promised to communicate to the leadership of the Igbo Speaking Community on every arrangement in respect of his burial both in Lagos State and his home town in Imo State.
