The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Wednesday led hundreds of members of the All-Progressives Congress (APC) from Ikeja Local Government, Onigbongbo LCDA and Ojodu LCDA on a massive solidarity walk across major roads in Ikeja, Lagos, declaring that the achievements of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, have earned him another term in office.

Addressing party faithful during the rally, Comrade Dauda said the walk was a public demonstration of confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership and an endorsement of the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

“This walk is to tell Nigerians that the people of Ikeja, Onigbongbo and Ojodu are solidly behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. We have seen the bold reforms and developmental projects of this administration, and we believe they deserve continuity. We are supporting Mr. President for a second term because the foundation he is laying today will secure a better future for Nigeria,” he said.

The council chairman cited several achievements of the Tinubu administration, including the ongoing Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, which he said has recorded significant progress, the construction of the Sokoto-Badagry Super Highway, the NELFUND student loan scheme, the implementation of local government autonomy, regular disbursement of funds to local governments, and the recently approved salary increase for federal civil servants.

According to him, the Federal Government’s investment in infrastructure, education and workers’ welfare demonstrates a clear commitment to national development.

“Our students are benefiting from NELFUND and can now pursue higher education with greater confidence. Industrial disputes in our tertiary institutions have reduced, local governments now receive their allocations promptly, and federal workers have a new salary structure. These are practical achievements that directly impact the lives of Nigerians,” Comrade Dauda stated.

He expressed optimism that Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, would implement the new salary structure for state workers, adding that local government employees would also benefit in due course.

Comrade Dauda urged Nigerians to consolidate the gains of the Renewed Hope Agenda by re-electing President Tinubu and Rt Hon. James Faleke, member representing Ikeja Federal Constituency, while calling on Lagos residents to support Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat as the next Governor of Lagos State.

“The journey of development must continue. We are calling on Nigerians to renew President Tinubu’s mandate and support Dr. Kadri Hamzat to sustain progressive governance in Lagos State. Continuity is the pathway to greater prosperity,” he added.

The solidarity walk attracted a large turnout of APC leaders, elected officials, youths, women and supporters from the three council areas. Also in attendance were the Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, and his counterpart in Ojodu LCDA, Hon. David Odunmbaku, who joined AKOD in mobilising support for the party ahead of the forthcoming elections.
