Ikeja Council Of Obas Visits Council Chairman, Comrade Dauda

The Council of Obas in Ikeja Local Government paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), at his Ikeja House office on Thursday, 23rd October, 2025.

 

The royal fathers’ visit was to congratulate the Chairman and his team on their victory at the polls and to commend the administration for the remarkable developmental strides recorded within a short period in office.

The visiting monarchs included HRM Oba Akeem Shaibu Agbaosi, the Alaguda of Ogba-Aguda Land; HRM Oba Olusegun Adeyemi Ajasa, the Awuse of Onigbongbo; and HRM Oba Dr. Olukunmi Olusesan Akingbole, the Olu of Oregun Land.

 

The revered traditional rulers expressed deep satisfaction with the Chairman’s performance and leadership style, noting that the level of progress achieved under his administration within just 100 days was unprecedented in the history of Ikeja Local Government.

 

They attributed his success to his mentorship and political tutelage under Rt. Hon. James Abiodun Faleke, describing him as a “trailblazer in governance whose leadership qualities Comrade Dauda has clearly emulated”.

 

In his response, the Council Chairman, Comrade Dauda, visibly elated by the visit and words of encouragement, thanked the royal fathers for their support and prayers. He reaffirmed his commitment to good governance, transparency, and inclusive leadership, stating that “to whom much is given, much is expected”.

 

He emphasized that since assuming office, his administration has focused on delivering quality service, infrastructural renewal, and people-centered policies aimed at ensuring that the good people of Ikeja experience the Better Days he promised.

The Chairman also assured the royal fathers of improved welfare packages and continued collaboration with traditional institutions in promoting peace, unity, and progress across Ikeja Local Government.

 

The meeting ended with prayers by the royal fathers for the continuous peace, love, and prosperity of Ikeja and for divine guidance for the Chairman, Comrade Dauda and his administration.
