Ikeja LG Chairman, Comrade Dauda Convenes Monthly Security Meeting With Stakeholders

The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), on Tuesday hosted the monthly security meeting aimed at reviewing the security situation across the local government and strengthening collaboration among relevant stakeholders to ensure the continued peace and safety of residents.

 

Present at the meeting were heads of various security agencies across Ikeja Local Government, the Head of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Ikeja, Mrs. Dawodu, the Head of the State Paramilitary Agency in Ikeja, the Regent of Ikeja Kingdom, High Chief Apena, the Chairperson of the Community Development Committee (CDC), the Council Manager, Mrs. Odubeko, representatives of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the League of Imams and Alfas, the Director of Legal Services, Barr. Bailey, as well as the Secretary to the Local Government, Prince Adeyinka Illo.

 

During the meeting, participants reviewed security developments within the local government, identified emerging challenges, and discussed proactive measures to sustain the peaceful atmosphere currently enjoyed across Ikeja. The stakeholders emphasized the importance of intelligence sharing, community participation, and stronger inter-agency cooperation in addressing security concerns.

 

The Council Chairman commended the security agencies and community leaders for their dedication and sacrifice in maintaining law and order within the local government. He reiterated his administration’s unwavering commitment to supporting security agencies with the necessary cooperation and logistics required to enhance their effectiveness.

 

The Executive Chairman further urged residents to remain vigilant and continue to support security agencies by providing timely and useful information that can help prevent crime and safeguard lives and property. He stressed that security remains a collective responsibility and called for greater synergy between government institutions, traditional authorities, religious leaders, and community stakeholders.

 

The meeting concluded with prayers for continued peace, progress, and prosperity in Ikeja Local Government and Lagos State at large.
