My name is Philemon Usman, a driver working for Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom). I wish to use this medium to appreciate this woman with a golden heart for giving me the opportunity to become a University Graduate. Something I never thought was possible considering my background.
Though I am from Nasarawa State, I work for the Distinguished Senator alongside other drivers, who are from Anambra State. I must confess that this has been an experience I will never forget. She took us all as her children and gave our lives great meaning. She taught us that there is dignity in labour.
When she first told me to make effort to further my education that she would sponsor me and give me the necessary assistance I needed to succeed in school, I thought it was a mission impossible considering the fact that as a driver to an active politcian like her, I would hardly have time to study and attend lectures, but she kept to her word and gave me the necessary time-off to attend to my academics when the need arises.
Today, to the glory of God, and by her sponsorship and support, I am a graduate of Biology Education, 2nd Class (Upper Division).
On behalf of my family and colleagues, I wish to thank our Mummy for her benevolence, even as I hope to join the rank of her domestic staff and constituents who she has facilitated employment for in different sectors of the Nigerian economy.
Our Distinguished Senator, may God continue to strengthen and uplift you in all your endeavours.
Thank you for all you do Ma!
