Imo Deputy Speaker, Iwuanyanwu Revalidates APC Membership, Empowers Market Women

A new dimension of clinical registeration awareness was introduced yesterday, Tuesday , February 16, 2021, as the Honourable Member representing Nwangele Constituency, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu, who also doubles as Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assemly, having revalidated his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC)  before the watchful admiration of the cream of the party leadership and members across the 11 Wards in Nwangele LGA, addressed the leaders, party faithful, avowed supporters and intended members, who came home to participate in the ongoing Nationwide Membership registeration and revalidation exercise of the All Progressives Congress; at the Basilica of Grace, Dim Na Nume Isu country home of the egghead State legislator.

Having been saddled with the  task of ensuring aggressive turn up and massive membership registration into the All Progressives Congress in his immediate Nwangele Constituency by the leader of the party in the state, His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodinma, the proactive and result-oriented lawmaker, Amara Iwuanyanwu,  alongside the Interim Management Committee of the LGA under Hon. Cosmos Iwuogo, went to the field to mobilize and galvanize supports for the party. 

Addressing the party faithful, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu remarked that a significant development which is germane to the August gathering is the total  dissolution of all the political structures into one stronger, united and more formidable family; that is Nwangele APC.He assured Nwangele people   that with their total support, loyalty and solidarity to Governor Hope Uzodinma’s Administration  and the APC in Imo State, they would stand to gain more dividends of democracy and presence of the State Government; recounting that Nwangele can boost of having four appointees of Government including a Honourable Commissioner.

He used the opportunity also, to call on a few leaders and members of the party in the other  side of the political camp to sheath their swords and join hands with the State Governor in his onerous efforts to reconstruct, rehabilitate and recover the state for the common good of ndi Imo.

Amara Iwuanyanwu, KSC, however, thanked Governor Hope Uzodinma and the leadership of the All Progressives Congress in Imo State, to repose such confidence in him as to provide the party platform under which he emerged Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly even as a first timer, describing the party as truly progressive.

He also thanked Nwangele people for trusting him with their mandate and standing by him during his political sojourn of  defection and consolidation for the common good of his Constituency; a result which everyone can now see and believe that: “Capacity” is not a stage name. 

The proactive and result-driven legislator, Rt. Hon.  Amara  Iwuanyanwu, therefore, called on his supporters who are still living in the dark to leave their former political parties and join a moving train, whose driver in the state has a certified driver’s license.

 The IMC Boss, Cosmos Iwuogo, while addressing the council members and their various wards, strictly directed that membership  registeration forms should be provided at their polling units for easy exercise.

In another twist, immediately after the speech, the retinue of the  Deputy Speaker’s colourful entourage, accompanied by members and leadership of the APC in Nwangele LGA, hit the road in their private cars, buses,  while others on motorcycles for an aggressive sensitization and awareness rally of the party’s  membership registration as the duo of Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu and Chief Cosmos Iwuogo, mounted the open Hilux van to wave and receive warm cheers from Nwangele people,  who were so excited seeing their own son, ‘Mr. Capacity’ that had  given them so much to remember and treasure.

 The road show, which took off  from the Amuzi,  Dim na Nume Isu residence of the lawmaker, traversed the Abba community of a respected leader, Philanthropist and road construction giant, High Chief Johnbosco Ozigbu, Abajah, Umuozu and Umuorlu before heading down North at the Amaigbo popular Orie-Chineke Market, where food vendors and  market women were happily  dancing with Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu as most of them gladly displayed their APC membership cards to the chagrin of this reporter.

Well prepared, the lawmaker, who was moved by their show of love, avowed support and solidarity,  ceased the opportunity the road show provided to empower as many market women as his budget could carry; just to add to their start -up business capital as a way of encouraging them while  putting smile on their faces, still basking in the spirit of the Valentine season.

The robust, inclusive, engaging and participatory APC membership registration|revalidation exercise witnessed massive attendance  as most of the members and leaders from the other faction of the party threw caution to the wind in the spirit of sportsmanship, genuine reconcilation and possible reintegration into the main fold of the LGA and State Party’s  structure and leadership, to honour the invitation of their State Representative who has not only demonstrated capacity in galvanising support for Governor Hope Uzodinma, but remains one of the strongest apostles of the Shared Prosperity Administration under Sen. Hope Uzodinma.
