The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement (South-West), Moremi Ojudu, has commended the Honourable Minister of Works, Engr. David Umahi, for his decisive response to the unintended hardship caused by the recent closure of the Independence Bridge in Lagos.
Moremi said that his swift intervention to reopen the bridge and alleviate the suffering of road users demonstrated a deep commitment to the well-being of Nigerians.
She further said, “We also extend our appreciation to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his continued commitment to infrastructure development and the welfare of the people. The Renewed Hope Agenda remains focused on delivering sustainable solutions, ensuring that critical road networks are rehabilitated while minimising disruption to daily life”.
“We equally acknowledge the efforts of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who promptly addressed the concerns of Lagos residents and ensured that necessary support was provided to manage traffic challenges. His proactive engagement underscores the importance of synergy between federal and state governments in addressing infrastructural needs.”
“The proactive measures taken by the Ministry of Works, including the planned comprehensive rehabilitation of the bridge, reassure citizens that this administration prioritises both safety and efficiency in its infrastructural projects. We urge continued collaboration between Federal and State agencies to ensure seamless execution of these initiatives.
