An Indian national, simply identified as Bhat Trivikrama, has landed in serious trouble in Ogun State after the Police arrested some armed thugs, who encroached on a large expanse of land in the Osopo village area of Sagamu Local Government.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the arrest of the suspects: Ganiu Ayobami, Idris Olayinka, Oluwaseyi Adebayo, Wasiu Soluga, Peter Owoicho and Udaya Arinze, is contrary to the report that an Ogun State estate agent, Alhaji Mutairu Owoeye, encroached on the said land.
This is just as the Arapetu Descendant Royal Family of Makun Sagamu, Ogun State, has accused the Indian national of resorting to blackmail in an attempt to curry public sympathy.
The family also punctured the claim by Bhat that the said land was allocated to him by the government, adding that the government had not acquired the land  from them and would not have allocated it to any individual.
The head of of the Arapetu Descendant  Family, Chief Rasak Alase, told newsmen that ” The Indian national is just a meddlesome interloper. He is not even a party to the said land. He bought our land from a judgement debtor”.
According to the family head, the Police,  through the office of the Deputy Inspector General of Police ( FCID), have ensured a thorough investigation into all the allegations and have submitted a formal report of the investigation.
“The Police report exposed a lot of things and indicted many of them of iilegal possession of our farmland. They have gone from one Police formation to another but when it was time to present their documents, they will abandon the case and run to another Police formation” he said.
The family head narrated that “Our family is engrossed in a battle with the Awolesi Family over the ownership of our land. We have won them at the Ogun State High Court but they kept selling our land to different people. One of those who bought our land from the judgement debtor is the Indian national”.
“He even joined in one of the cases in Court and the judgement was against them. And instead of looking for a way to engage us, he resorted to using armed thugs.”
Chief Alase also stated that, “His latest outburst started after he invaded our land again with armed thugs to attack people and demolish structures. They were however, unlucky as Policemen were quickly mobilized to the scene and six of those gunmen were arrested. They have been charged to Court this week”.
“It is our family that sold part of our land to Alhaji Owoeye and his company. He is not encroaching on our land. It is the Indian national and other people that had been encroaching on our land.”
The family head also stated that, “Rather than the Indian man coming to the public to whip up sentiments, he should contact those who sold land to him to confirm the status of the case in Court. A judgement has already been delivered in our favour by a Court of valid jurisdiction”.
“He is not the only person that bought land from the judgement debtor, he is just trying to blackmail us and our customers. He should contact those who sold land to him to come out and claim ownership of the land ” the family head submitted.
