inDrive Safety Summit Takes Centre Stage in Abuja

inDrive, a global mobility and delivery services platform, is set to host the third edition of its Safety Summit on October 9, in Abuja, opening up its approach to some of the safety and operational issues that have generated public conversations around its platform.

The Summit, themed “Building Trust Through Transparency, Dialogue, and Innovation,” will bring together drivers, passengers, couriers, merchants, regulators, security stakeholders, and technology experts to discuss safety incidents and other challenges across inDrive’s mobility and delivery services.

Discussions will focus on incident reporting, communication, accountability, fairness, and practical lessons to strengthen safety and trust, while also providing stakeholders with insight into how the company receives, reviews, and responds to incidents.

The event will feature a dedicated “Transparency First” session examining how inDrive manages incidents that attract public attention, particularly when information emerges before all the facts are established. inDrive executives will provide insight into the company’s incident management and stakeholder communication processes, as well as operational and safety improvements introduced in response to lessons from previous cases, without reopening or adjudicating any individual incidents. A dedicated presentation will further demonstrate the safety features, in-app tools, integrations, and other measures available to support users across the platform.

According to Timothy Oladimeji, Country Manager at inDrive Nigeria, the event reflects the company’s willingness to engage openly with issues affecting users and partners across its platform.

He noted that building trust requires more than introducing safety features, stressing the importance of listening to stakeholders, acknowledging concerns, and clearly communicating how the company handles incidents and what it learns from them.

“The Safety Summit is an opportunity for us to have the conversations that matter openly and honestly. When incidents occur, people want to understand what happened, how it was handled, and what is being done differently going forward. We believe transparency, dialogue, and accountability are essential to building trust, and this summit allows us to bring those conversations into the room with the people who use and support our platform,” he said.

Through discussions and demonstrations, inDrive will seek to deepen stakeholders’ understanding of its safety processes and encourage continued engagement in creating safer experiences across the platform.
