For contributing towards scaling the growth and development of the public relations and communications industry, BlackHouse Media (BHM) has earned four awards from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) at the seventh edition of its LaPRIGA ceremony – the highest for any Nigerian consultancy.

The annual event hosted by the Lagos state chapter of the NIPR is dedicated to celebrating the achievements and excellence of key stakeholders in the public relations industry.

BHM won two awards for agency of the year for its growth and expansion into the UK, Ghana and Kenya; and best supporter of PR, for creating two global celebrations, World PR Day and Global Day of Influence, both aimed at promoting the understanding and significance of public relations on a global scale.

The global integrated communications company, earlier this year, emerged as a finalist for the ‘Africa Consultancy of the Year’ award for the second year running at the annual SABRE Awards EMEA.

The consultancy was also nominated across other categories including Capital Markets Communications, Corporate Social Responsibility, Crisis Management, and Geographic categories for the ‘MTN Public Offer’, ‘Coca-Cola World Without Waste’, ‘MTN & Banks – USSD’, and the ‘Project Safe Up – My World of Bags’ campaigns, respectively.

Enitan Kehinde, BHM UK’s General Manager was recognised as the ‘Rising PR Practitioner of the Year.’

She received the award for developing initiatives to educate and upskill new entrants and contributing to the shaping of the future of global PR and communications.

Ayeni Adekunle, BHM Founder and CEO received the coveted Public Relations practitioner of the year award, in recognition of his contributions towards the growth of public relations globally by spearheading the World PR Day and the Global Day of Influence initiatives.

The past few years have seen BHM record significant milestones.

In March 2021, the company announced its expansion to London and Edinburgh and subsequently followed this up with the establishment of operations in Ghana and Kenya, under the auspices of ID Africa, an allied Pan-African public relations, marketing communications, and strategic advisory company, in April 2022.

In July, the consultancy led the world to celebrate World PR Day which has now been held for two consecutive years, attracting over 10,000 professionals from over 20 countries and six continents.

In addition to driving the celebration of the public relations profession across the world, BHM has been spearheading the growth and advancement of the public relations industry in Nigeria with groundbreaking achievements like the Africa PR and Communications Report which was announced earlier this year in April.

CEO and Founder, Ayeni says, “It is humbling to be celebrated by NIPR. We believe Africa has a lot more to offer the public relations and communications industry globally and we are committed to driving and shaping the future of PR in Africa.”

Speaking at the event, Comfort Nwankwo, NIPR Lagos chairperson said, “ the LaPRIGA Awards will always be committed to celebrating excellence in the industry”.

The LaPRIGA Awards is a reputable event that celebrates distinguished and outstanding achievements in public relations practice among its relevant stakeholders.
