DR IFEANYI EGWUATU
In Fatherland’s quondam verdant realm, Now chafed by the hydra of insecurity’s dread,
A maelstrom of malevolence, with tentacles so dire,
Strangling the very fabric of existence with damnation.
The facinorous nexus of brigands, kidnappers and terrorists,
With impunity, wreak havoc, leaving death’s macabre cloaks,
The anguished cries of victims, reverberating through the demesne,
As fear and trepidation clutch the heart, like an iron vice.
The vaunted guardians of the nation, seemingly sterile,
As the people’s trust, like sand, slips through their fingers, potent,
The economy, a casualty, as investors flee in fright,
Leaving the future, a desolate landscape, devoid of light.
Yet still, a flicker of hope, like a beacon in the night,
Guides us towards a new dawn, where peace and security take flight,
For leaders with heart of lions, and Solomonic traits,
To vanquish the bodings and bring solacement to the citizenry.
