Saturday, 31st of March at the Lagos Continental, Victoria Island, was the kind of night true football lovers dream about.

Heineken, the world’s most premium beer, brought the UEFA Champions League 2025 final to life in style with a high-energy watch party that honoured the passion of real hardcore fans.

Held in Lagos and simultaneously across viewing centres in Abuja, Port Harcourt, Benin City, Asaba, Aba, Enugu, and Jos, this year’s Cheers to the Hardcore Fans campaign grand finale delivered an exciting combination of football and entertainment.

Before the match, fans immersed themselves in an interactive fan zone filled with activities that celebrated the culture around the game.

From a buzzing Heineken cocktail bar, PS5 gaming stations, and foosball tables to the Heineken UCL mini game, with opportunities to win exclusive Heineken merchandise and other attractive gifts. Adding to the energetic atmosphere, a pop-up barbershop offered complimentary fresh trims, ensuring there was something for everyone as pre-match anticipation built up.

Then came the big one: the UEFA Champions League Final between PSG and Inter Milan. Fans packed the viewing arena as the match kicked off, and the energy was electric.

Former Inter player Achraf Hakimi opened the scoring for PSG, but it was 19-year-old French forward Désiré Doué who stole the show. He doubled PSG’s lead with a deflected strike and added another sensational solo goal shortly after half-time.

Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia made it four, before the fifth (and perhaps most poetic) goal came from Senny Mayulu, a teenage substitute born on the outskirts of Paris and a proud product of the PSG academy. It was a night of heartbreak for Inter, who lost 5–0, but pure magic for PSG and the fans who witnessed it all.

Post-match, the atmosphere turned celebratory as the event transitioned into an after party.

Hosted by the ever-energetic Sheye Banks, the night featured electrifying performances by Fido and the legendary Wande Coal.

DJ Big N kept the energy high with nonstop hits, while the Heineken influencers, Yemi Cregx, Sheggz Olusemo, Mike Afolarin, Saga Deolu and Diana Eneje mingled with fans and proudly repped the best premium beer, Heineken.

Guests walked away with exclusive Heineken merchandise and a lasting memory from a night that had everything from passion and goals to community and celebration.

Speaking about the success of the campaign, Maria Shadeko, Portfolio Manager, Premium Brands at Nigerian Breweries Plc, said, “With the ‘Cheers to the Hardcore Fans’ campaign, we wanted to honour the diversity and devotion of Nigerian fans while creating spaces for them to enjoy the UEFA Champions League in a premium, inclusive, and exciting way. This final watch party was our way of saying thank you to them. It’s their energy, their humour, and their passion that make football so special. And tonight, we brought that passion to life in true Heineken style.”

The final watch party capped off a season-long celebration of fans nationwide.

For those who missed it, this wasn’t just a match viewing. It was a celebration of football fandom at its purest. And if you weren’t there, you missed an unforgettable night.
