The Police at Ikotun Division have finally charged the Islamic cleric, Moruf Fadigbe, who repeatedly engaged his 21-year old physically challenged daughter in sex romps before a Court in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the initial delay encountered in the prosecution of Fadigbe was due to the inability of the Police at Ikotun Division and the social workers, who were the complainants, to raise N14,000 needed to arraign him in Court.

It was learnt that following the constraints, the officers in charge of Family Support Unit then contributed from their salaries before he was charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for defilement.

The defendant, Fadigbe, was ordered to be remanded in prison custody without an option of bail following a motion moved by the prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, asking the Court to refer the matter to the DPP for advice.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, remanded him and directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice. The matter was adjourned till 18th July, 2019, for the report of the DPP’s advice to be ready.

The Islamic cleic, Fadigbe, was arrested for forcefully engaging his 22-year old daughter in sex romps and turning her into a sex slave in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at 15 Yemi Ogunleye Street, Inufere Bus Stop in Isheri Oshun area of Lagos where they reside.
The victim, who was said to have had health challenges, was the daughter of his first wife who left him. When the first wife left, he eventually turned the daughter into a sex slave and maltreated her to the extent that it attracted the attention of residents in the neighborhood.
Upon his arrest the victim opened up and revealed how her father, the Islamic cleric, fondles her breasts and inserts fingers into her private part before penetrating her.
He was arrested and detained for several days but there was no money for transportation and logistics for his arraignment which caused disagreement between the Police and social workers who reported the incident.
That may have exposed the challenges the Police and the social workers face in the course of their duties.
