It Wasn’t Our Final To Win!

ULOKA CHIBUIKE

It wasn’t our final to win. Blame the coach and players all you want, the odds were against us from the onset.

The script was for the host nation to win, while Nigeria toiled to become the runners-up.

The players played their hearts out, and the coach surpassed our expectations; that’s the important thing from the tournament.

Ivory Coast reaching the final meant the gold was for them. Nothing to regret.

Let’s prepare the boys mentally for the World Cup qualifications and the next AFCON in the next two years.

This tournament was a litmus test that worked. The NFF must renew Jose Peseiro’s contract or allow Finidi George to take over and prepare for future tournaments. They are young and can lead us to becoming a footballing nation again.

Regardless of the outcome, the Eagles won hearts and united our country once again.

Congratulations to the Super Eagles and the Elephants of Ivory Coast!
