Better days are ahead for civil servants in Anambra State as Gov Willie Obiano has assured them that his Successor, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, would do more for them.

Gov Obiano gave this assurance while speaking to the civil servants at the Jerome Udoji Secretariat yesterday during the 2021 Public Service Day celebration.

While speaking to the civil servants, Gov Obiano noted that he has fulfilled all the promises he made to them. He assured them that the APGA candidate for the Anambra gubernatorial election, Chukwuma Charles Soludo, would do more.
Recall that Gov Obiano increased salaries of workers in Anambra State on two occasions and implemented the minimum wage ahead of many states in the country. He also pays workers’ salaries promptly.

Beyond that, he always pays leave allowances before the Christmas festivities every year and ensures that every worker goes home for Christmas with a bag of rice. He equally pays pensions.
Note also that he ensured that arrears of pensions and gratuities of retired staff of the Anambra Broadcasting Service and the National Light Newspaper were settled.

Declaring Thursday and Friday as work-free days, Gov Obiano asked the workers to use the opportunity to go to their wards to perform the civic responsibility of voting for his successor. He urged them to vote for APGA and Soludo who he said would do more for the workers than he did.

According to the Governor, “In a few months, my tenure will be over and I will be with you no more. I will miss you, but I will leave you in the capable hands of Chukwuma Soludo, who will do more for you than I did. So go home and vote for APGA and Soludo”.

It was a day of mixed emotions for the civil servants as they reflected over what seemed a farewell speech from the Governor. However, as Obiano presented Soludo to them, they cheered with renewed hope as they envisioned the transition from a good Anambra to a better one.
