A 22-year old jealous pregnant wife, Veronica Boniface, who may have intended to protect her marriage after she overheard her husband’s phone conversation with a lady, who she suspected to be his lover, allegedly murdered her husband after she lost her cool and stabbed him.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that out of rage Mrs. Veronica reportedly stabbed her husband, Mr. Boniface, with a kitchen knife and he bled to death in the process.
The incident happened in Nasarawa State where Mrs. Veronica lives with her late husband, Boniface.
She has now lost her marriage and at the same time facing murder charge for her anger which may lead her to life imprisonment. She has been arrested by the National Security and Civil Defence Corps.The State Commandant of NSCDC, Mohammed Mahmud Fari, confirmed the incident and said after she had stabbed her husband, who was bleeding profusely, he was immediately rushed to the hospital but he did not make it as he died in the process.Fari explained that Mrs. Veronica stabbed her husband multiple times out of anger and jealousy while having a heated argument following the fact that she heard him talking to a strange woman on the phone.
Veronica, who is a mother of one and currently pregnant, further narrated that she only intended to scare him a bit but things unfortunately got out of hand and she ended up stabbing him to death.
She further revealed that she was using the knife to peel yam when the argument started and she mistakenly stabbed him after struggling to collect the phone from him. She regretted her action and is currently pleading for leniency.Police source said that Veronica will be charged for murder after the conclusion of investigation not minding her pregnancy.
