The much anticipated U-13 Kids football competition would kick off on Saturday at the Elegbata astro turf playground, Apogbon, Lagos Island.
32 teams are expected to take part in the competition sponsored by JOF Nigeria Limited and organized by Lagos State Grassroots Soccer Association.
The competition would be played in three venues such as Elegbata football pitch, Apogbon, Mary Primary School, Lekki and White Sand playground, Orile, Lagos.
In the fixtures released by the organizers, Oluyole Boys from Ayobo would tackle Loko Babes from Yaba in the opening match scheduled for Elegbata.
Action resumes on Sunday at Mary Primary School, Lekki when St Micheal Academy face Barca Babes as Ultimate Villa battle United Stars in the second match of the day.
At the White Sand playground, Orile, Royal Babes confront Striker FC while Bullet Babes go to war with Dopemu United.
Chairman Organising Committee, Samuel Omolola said all arrangement have been concluded for the opening match. He disclosed that the officials from JOF with organizers’ are expected to witness the opening match and urged the football fans and players to maintain decorum throughout the match.
“We are set for the JOF Cup opening match and the teams are fully prepared for the tournament. All I can say is that the fans should shun any for of vices that can bring the tourney into disrepute. Players and coaches should also play the game according to the rules and regulation because anybody found wanting would be punished accordingly,” he said
