Slain Chairman of All Progressives Congress in Onne Ward, Eleme LGA of Rivers State, Hon. Jonah Chu, was buried in his home town Saturday, February 2nd, 2019.
Hon. Jonah Chu was reportedly murdered at about 8:45pm on 23rd December, 2018, shortly after attending a political meeting in Onne. Reports have it that the peaceful young man was trailed by his assailants from the meeting venue to his house.
Police investigations were said to be on course to unravel those behind the dastardly act.
Party chieftains of all categories attended the obsequies. They include: Chief Hon. Victor Giadom, who represented the Rivers APC governorship candidate, Arch. Tonye Cole, Hon. Ojukaye Flag-Amachree, Rivers State APC Chairman, who stood in for himself and the National Chairman of APC, Comr. Adams Oshiomhole, Ambassador Oji Ngofa, also represented himself and the South South Leader of APC, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi CON, Chief Hon. Fred Mbombo Igwe, Chief Hon. Fortune Oguru, Candidate Patience Saloka, Dr. Innocent Barikor, Hon. Bariya Baadom, Hon. Second Barikor, Hon. Sylvester Vidin, All Eleme APC Leadership Caucus members,
Forum of APC Chairmen, party leaders and candidates, amongst others.
Also in attendance were Hon. Philip Okparaji, Chairman of Eleme LGA and an array of PDP stalwarts who came to identify with the bereaved family.
The APC family in Rivers said that Late Jonah Chu will be remembered for his special talent in unifying people of variable interests, and his low speech tone but constant smiling disposition.
