Justice For 3-Year Old: Conflicting Medical Reports Spark Outrage In Defilement Case

A scandal has rocked the Mirabel Center in Lagos following conflicting medical reports on the alleged defilement of a 3-year old girl by a Ladipo market trader, Monday. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the initial report from Mirabel Center indicated an infection, while Igando Medical Center reported evidence of penetration.

 

The child’s mother, Mrs. Ogechi Okoye, alleged intimidation and attempts to cover up the case, claiming she was assaulted by individuals linked to the suspect.

 

An NGO, Ambassador for Peace and Enlightenment Foundation (AMPEF), has intervened, seeking justice for the victim

 

The second medical examination, approved by the Lagos State Police Command Gender Unit, revealed severe injuries consistent with sexual penetration, contradicting the initial report by Mirabel Center.

 

AMPEF’s case manager, Comrade Neye Solomon, suspects the first report’s credibility and calls for a thorough investigation.

 

The case highlights concerns about handling sexual abuse cases and potential interference.

 

The Ambassador for Peace and Enlightenment Foundation (AMPEF) stepped in following a distress call received on 20th March, 2026, for their intervention.

 

The founder of AMPEF, Comrade Prince Saviour Iche and their case manager,  Comrade Neye Solomon, visited the residence of the child’s mother, Mrs Ogechi Okoye, at the Powerline area of Ejigbo, Lagos State, where they met her with visible injuries, including bruises on her face and mouth.

 

The embittered mother alleged that she was assaulted by individuals linked to the prime suspect who defiled her daughter in an attempt to force her to withdraw the case from the Lagos State Police Command Gender Unit.

 

She narrated that the incident happened in December 2025, the suspect identified  as Monday allegedly assaulted her daughter and two other minors aged, 5 and 8.

 

The matter was reported to the Police at Ejigbo Division and the suspect was arrested and transferred to the Gender Section of the State Command

 

Controversial Medical Findings:

The initial  medical examination was reportedly conducted at the Mirabel Centre by the head physician (Name Withheld). However, the outcome of the examination allegedly stated that the child was suffering from an infection.

 

However, AMPEF case manager, suspected the credibility of that report, stating that during a follow-up visit on 28th March, 2026, the child was found in a critical condition, with persistent bleeding and mucous discharge.

 

The mother also alleged that the examination process at the first facility was not thorough, claiming that no comprehensive tests were conducted before the child was discharged with medication.

 

Second Examination Contradicts Initial Report:

Not satisfied with the initial findings, Solomon said he approached the Gender Unit and obtained approval for a second medical evaluation.

 

“The child was subsequently taken to another medical facility, where doctors reportedly conducted a fresh examination.”

 

“The second assessment revealed severe injuries consistent with sexual penetration, contradicting the earlier diagnosis of infection.”

 

He further disclosed that the extent of the injuries observed raised serious medical concerns and necessitated urgent and continued treatment for the child.

 

Allegations of Intimidation and Possible Compromise:

 

The case has also been marred by allegations of interference and possible attempts to influence its outcome.

The child’s mother claimed that individuals approached her with offers of money to withdraw the case, while also alleging that she was physically assaulted in order to silence her.

 

There were also alleged claims of financial transactions involving persons connected to the case: the NGO personnel identified as Blessing, the attending doctor at Mirabel Center and the legal consultant, though these have not been confirmed by P.M.EXPRESS.

 

Call for Transparency and Justice:

 

The AMPEF case manager emphasised that the case has now been returned to the appropriate authorities for further investigation, with a follow-up expected.

 

He called for a thorough and transparent probe into both the alleged abuse and the handling of the case, stressing that the matter must not be compromised.

 

“This is a matter of urgent public interest. A vulnerable child is involved, and justice must not only be done but be seen to be done,” he said.

 

There has not been official reaction from the Police Public Relations Officer over the matter.
