A popular eatery, Kingston Jo Foods Nigeria Limited (Igando branch) has been shut temporarily after their manager allegedly stole all the money realised from sales and escaped in Lagos.

The suspect, Fredrick Onyeka Ikem has been arrested.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the food company’s branch at Igando between November and December 2017.

It was gathered that the management supplied the food items to Ikem at the branch, he sold and diverted the money to the tune of about N905,000 to his private account without the knowledge of the management.

However, the scam was exposed after the company carried out an internal audit and discovered that Ikem had not remitted money family the branch sales to the company’s account for two months.

When the management at the Isolo headquarters summoned him to explain what happened to the money from sales at the Igando branch, he admitted that he had used the money to solve his personal problems.

He was handed over to the police at Isolo Division and was charged before Ikeja Magistrates court for fraud.

He pleaded not guilty.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Layinka granted Ikem bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 1 March, 2018.
