Kotec Football Club have been confirmed the champions of the ongoing Alimosho Football Coaches Council League following the failure of NISSI to honour their away match against eventual champions.

Before their match against NISSI, Kotec are on top of the table with 38 points after playing 18 matches. Bucknor are trailing behind them with 34 points while defending champions, Samjason occupy third position on the table with 34

Kotec have two matched to play to finish the league but just needed a draw or victory against NISSI to crown as champions.NISSI’s failure to honour their last mach on Tuesday morining at the Air force barrack, Shasha, Alimosho, Lagos paved way for Kotec to be crowned as champions.

Reacting to the victory, Kotec chairman, Olajide Kazeem expressed gratitude to God for the historic feat the club recorded in the year 2022. He described the team’s victory as a result of commitment and dedication of the players and coaching crew.

“Nobody gave us a chance when the league started some months ago but today we shamed our critics. We won the league because the players are highly disciplined, dedicated and committed to all matches. I dedicate the team’s success to Almighty God, my mother and wife as well as my children who always support the club in prayers,” he said.

Kotec team manager, Akinade Mofe said the club deserved to be crowned as champions and congratulated the players and coaching crew for the job well done. He thanked the club chairman for his financial support given the club in the Alimosho league.

While Kotec coach, Uche Okeke was full of praises on the players. He said the players showed doggedness and resilience in all their matches which earned them valuable points especially in their away matches

In other fixtures, Bucknor would host Iyaloja General United on Thursday evening, while H2U welcome Kedge Sports on Friday as former champions, Samjason would be a guest to Flying Wings same Friday.

Action continues on Saturday when champions, Kotec would host Layenda in a formality match.

Meanwhile the organisers of the league have banned NISSI and Newtown G from taking part in the league in the next two seasons failure to honour their three matches.
