Kuda Microfinance Bank has announced the release of ‘My Year on Kuda’, the 2025 edition of its much-anticipated yearly money recap.

The recap gives Kuda customers a detailed review of how they spent, saved and managed money on their Kuda app throughout the previous year.

The recap turns transaction activity into money insights that are meaningful, actionable and personal.

The goal of ‘My Year On Kuda’ is to help Kuda customers understand their financial behaviour from the past year so they can make better choices in the new year.

At a time when personal financial planning has become more important for individuals and households navigating inflation and economic uncertainty, ‘My Year On Kuda’ presents spending patterns across categories such as transfers, card payments, online purchases and bill payments, making it easy for them to understand their finances better.

Customers can see how much they received versus how much they spent and compare their overall spending in 2025 with what they did in 2024.

Other details, such as the month in which spending was highest, the biggest bill payment, customers’ saving frequency, and how much money Kuda’s 25 free monthly transfers saved them, are also highlighted in the recap.

Screenshots of POS, ATM and online transactions from My Year On Kuda shared by customers on X show that individual behaviour mirrors national trends.

In the first quarter of 2025, Nigerians made over 2.2 billion electronic payment transactions worth about ₦285 trillion, up nearly 20 percent year-on-year.

POS terminals alone accounted for hundreds of millions of these transactions, showing that daily commerce is increasingly cashless, with digital channels becoming the dominant way Nigerians manage and move money.

‘My Year On Kuda’ also includes a detailed view of customers’ Kuda Overdraft usage.

The Overdraft section of the recap shows how often customers accessed credit, how much they borrowed, and how reliably they repaid.

This shines a light on responsible borrowing. Instead of just showing debt totals, it shows repayment patterns with percentages that help customers understand how well they managed short-term credit.

Financial education and literacy are central themes in the design of My Year On Kuda.

In the opening video of the recap, Babs Ogundeyi, Group CEO of Kuda, said, “Before you carry on with January, this is the perfect time to see everything you did with your money on Kuda last year and learn something,” underscoring Kuda’s belief that better financial decisions begin with honest, clear, and meaningful reflection on past behaviour.

With My Year On Kuda, Kuda surfaces shifts in how Nigerians earn, spend and manage money and reiterates the fact that paying close attention to everyday banking activity is a key way to understand the changing nature of personal finance in Nigeria.
