A Ladipo Market trader, Uwason Ede Solomon, has been arrested and charged for allegedly spending money erroneously paid into his bank account in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports the suspect,  Solomon, was charged for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace and stealing.
Solomon suffered his fate after one Okonlawon Adewale Musbau erroneously transferred N200,000 into his Fidelity Bank account number, 6018259158 and he was contacted to refund the money but he refused.
After several appeals for him to refund the money, he refused and the matter was reported to the Police at Ladipo Market station. He was then arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over his alleged conduct.
During interrogation, Solomon reportedly told the Police that the money came into his account when he needed money to solve pressing problems and he spent it.
The Police found him culpable and subsequently charged him before the Isolo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
He pleaded not guilty when he was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector M. Solomon, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since he pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. I.O. Williams, granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses verified.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when he will perfect his bail conditions.
