Lady, 24, Baths Landlady With Hot Oil For Attacking Her For Hiring A Man As Husband

A 24-year old lady, Chikaso Irozuruike, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly pouring hot oil on her landlady, Ada Rita Ntekim, over attack by the landlady for allegedly hiring a man to pose as husband in order to get the apartment.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Community Road, Ijegun area of Lagos.
She has been charged before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for causing grievous injury on the landlady by pouring hot groundnut oil on Mrs. Rita during the public fight.
The lady, Chikaso, who is still single, wanted to rent an apartment and met with an estate agent, who took her to the place, she liked the apartment and wanted to pay.
However, the landlady had instructed the agent that she did not want a single lady to rent the apartment. And when Chikaso got the information, she went and hired one man to stand as her husband and then paid for the apartment.
Trouble started after she moved in and the landlady discovered that she was single, she physically attacked her and injured her in the process.
The next day, the lady, Chikaso, put oil on the fire and targeted the landlady. When she sighted the landlady landlady, she poured the hot oil on her body. The landlady was badly injured and was rushed to the Igando General Hospital for treatment.
The matter was reported to the Area M Command in Idimu. The lady was arrested and detained for interrogation over her alleged conduct, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
During interrogation, she admitted to have done so out of anger and offered to pay the the landlady’s hospital bill to settle the matter.
But the Police insisted and charged her before the Court, where she was arraigned for the alleged offence.
However, she pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, then told the Court that the complainant said that she was no longer interested in prosecuting the matter because they have settled and wrote a letter of withdrawal.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Ariyo, then struck out the matter and subsequently discharged the defendant.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the parties have resolved that the lady, Chikaso, will move out from the house on the agreed date as the final settlement of the matter.
