CYRIACUS IZUEKWE
A 24-year old lady, Bukola Yusuf, has been arrested for allegedly stealing female shoes worth N28,000 at Oshodi Market in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, Bukola, was caught at a shop in Kairo Market in Oshodi after she reportedly burgled the shop and stole four pairs of female shoes, two pairs of children shoes and cash belonging to one Abosede Abdul.
She was said to have earlier burgled the shop on 31st December, 2020 and carted away two pairs of children shoes and cash of N420,000 and escaped.
Unknown to her, the owner of the shop became conscious and set trap to catch the thief that had burgled her shop and it paid off.
She later went again, broke into the shop and stole cash of N300,000 including shoes and was escaping before she was caught.
She was handed over to the Police at Oshodi and she made confessional statement.Having been found culpable, she was subsequently charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for stealing.
She pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Kehinde Ajayi, asked the Court to give a date to enable the Police to prove that he actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. A. Ajibade, granted her bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
She was remanded in custody pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned till 20th May, 2021, for mention.
