A 25-year old lady was allegedly forcefully raped by her lover’s friend as she waited in his apartment.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Unity Estate, Ikotun area of Lagos.

Police operatives from Ikotun Division have arrested the suspect, Monsuru Ojo and charged him before the Court over the alleged offence.

Police source said that the lady reportedly met her lover on Facebook, fell in love and decided to pay him a visit from Agege area, where she resides, to Ikotun area of Lagos where her lover resides.

However, on getting to Ikotun with the address which she was given, she contacted him but he was not around at that point in time and then asked her to wait for him in Monsuru’s place pending when he will return.

While there, the suspect, Monsuru, was said to have taken advantage of the absence of his friend to forcefully engage the lady in sex romp before his friend could return.

Thereafter, when her lover returned, she slept over in his apartment and left the next day. But before she left, she told her lover about what happened while she waited for him in his friend’s place; how Monsuru Ojo had forcefully raped her in the process.

The matter was reported to the Police and Monsuru was arrested and later charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for the alleged offence.

At the Court, his plea was not taken after the prosecutor, Mr. Raji Hakeem, asked the Court for his remand in custody to enable the DPP give advice despite the fact that the defendant’s counsel told the Court that there was a relationship between him and the victim.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.A. Oshoniyi, ordered his remand in Correctional centre without an option of bail for 30 days to enable the DPP to give advice and also directed the prosecutor to duplicate the file and send to the DPP for advice.

The matter was adjourned till 10th August, 2020, for mention by which time the DPP’s advice will be available.P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the matter may be transferred to the High Court if the DPP’s advice finds him culpable for the alleged offence.
