Lady, 26, Bites Off Man’s Ear & Swallows It During Public Brawl

A man, Umor Iniabasi, will now live the rest of his life with one ear after he engaged a 26-year old lady, Nsikak Etim, in a public brawl and she bit off his ear and reportedly mistakenly swallowed in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ijaiye Street, Papa Ashafa area of Dopemu in Agege, Lagos, where they reside.
She has been arrested and charged for causing permanent injury on the victim.
According to Police sources, the lady, Nsikat Etim, had a disagreement with the man, Iniabasi, which resulted in exchange of words and later led to fighting between the duo.
During the physical fight, the lady targeted his ear, drew his head close to her mouth, bit it off and swallowed it.
The fight ended as the victim was said to have bled profusely and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment while the matter was reported to the Police at Agege Division. The lady was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation.
During interrogation, she was asked to bring out the ear she had bitten off but she claimed that she did not see it after her bite and the ear did not fall on the ground during the squabble.
The Police found her culpable and subsequently charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
She pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Adejumola Olasunkanmi, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Miss O.O. Adeosun, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with surety in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 31st August, 2023, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
