A 27-year old lady, Stephanie Michael, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly sneaking into a man’s house to seduce him and he raised alarm claiming that she came to his house with a criminal intent.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect,  Stephanie Michael, was arrested and charged for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace under the Criminal Laws of the State.

The incident happened at Odofin Close Oke-Afa Estate, Ejigbo, Lagos State, where she allegedly tried entering into the house without the consent of the owner, Bright Azuonwu.

According to the Police,  the motive of the suspect was suspicious but she claimed that she tried to reach out to the complainant to seduce him before he raised alarm.

However, the complainant insisted that she had a criminal motive and contacted the Police at Ejigbo Division before she was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over her conduct.

During interrogation, the Police discovered that she went there with a knife and lighter and pretended to be sleeping at the bush bar.

The Police found her culpable and consequently charged her before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.

The charge read:

“That you, Stephanie Michael ‘f’ on the 8th day of December, 2024, at about 2300hrs, at Odofin Close Oke-Afa Estate, Ejigbo Lagos State, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by entering the compound of one Bright Azuonwu ‘m’ of the above address with a knife and lighter and pretended sleeping at the bush bar and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 168 (D) of the criminal law of Lagos state of Nigeria 2015.”

However, she pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector Simeon Njue, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty before the Court to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Dosumu-Uthman, granted her bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while address will be verified by the Court.

The matter was adjourned till 17th January, 2025, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
