Lady, 27, Remanded For Bolting Away With Company’s N7m iPhones

A 27-year old lady, Fagbemi Mopolola, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly conspiring and stealing seven IPhones valued at N7,000,000.00 belonging to Gold World Gadget and bolting away. 

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Wufunke Estate, Amahadiya, Abule Egbe area of Lagos, where the company is located.

 

According to the Police,  the lady and others now at large conspired and stole the items and bolted away before the matter was reported to the Police at  Area F Command, Ikeja. The Police operatives moved into action, eventually arrested and detained her at the station for interrogation over her alleged conduct.

 

After rounds of interrogation, the Police found her culpable and charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

The charges read:

COUNT I: “That you, FAGBEMI MOPOLOLA OLUWATOSIN ‘F’ of  Wufunke Estate, Amahadiya, Abule Egbe, Lagos, on the 5th day of December, 2024 at Ikeja Magisterial District, did conspired with three others now at large and committed felony thereby committed an offence contrary and punishable under Section 412 of the Criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

COUNT II:” That you, FEGBEMI MOPOLOLA OLUWATOSIN ‘F’ of the aforementioned magisterial district, address and date, did steal Seven (7) Iphones value N7,000,000.00 (Seven Million Naira) only, property of GOLD WORLD GADGET and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under section 287 of the Criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

COUNT III:”That you, FEGBEMI MOPOLOLA OLUWATOSIN ‘F’ and others now at large of the aforementioned magisterial district, address, and date, did conduct yourselves in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace by making yourselves not reachable after committing an offence and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 68 (d) of the Criminal law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”

 

She pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.

 

 

The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.Kusanu, granted her bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
