A 28-year old lady, Motunrayo Ajala, has been arrested in Lagos State for allegedly inflicting serious injury on her rival, Tonmaye Fadekemi, by biting her breast during a public fight.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Bamgboye Street, Ijaiye area of Ojokoro, Lagos, where they reside.
The victim, Fadekemi, was said to have been hospitalized after the attack where she is receiving treatment while the matter was reported to the Police at Ojokoro Division. The Police have arrested the lady, Motunrayo and detained her at the station for interrogation over her conduct.
The cause of the fight was not disclosed by the Police but according to their neighbours, the duo who reside in the same compound, has been quarrelling over an undisclosed disagreement for a long time, which led to the public brawl.
On the fateful day, as usual, they started exchanging words and in the process, the lady, Motunrayo, reportedly grabbed the victim’s left breast and gave her a serious bite. The victim was said to have bled profusely and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
After thorough interrogation, the Police found Motunrayo culpable and subsequently charged her before the Ogba Magistrates Court for assault and inflicting bodily harm.
When she was arraigned, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Benson Emerhi, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty before Court to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.A. Owolabi, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum.
She was remanded in the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions while the matter was adjourned for mention.
