A 32-year old lady, Nnoma Nze, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly stealing her boss’ money to the tune of N100m.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Onilekere, Cement area of Lagos.
She was thereafter charged before the Ebute-Metta Magistrate Court on three counts bordering on conspiracy, fraud, and stealing, which were brought against her by the Police under the Criminal Laws of the State.
According to the Police, the lady allegedly committed the crime between 2015 and 2024 before her employer, Chidinma Peace, discovered the alleged fraud and reported to the Police.
The prosecutor, Supol Chinalu Uwadione, told the Court that the defendant, Nze allegedly conspired with others, who are currently at large, to defraud her employer, Chidinma Peace, of the sum of N100m and the alleged offences committed contravened the provisions of Sections 411, 314(1)(a)(b)(2)(3), 280, and 287 of the Lagos State Criminal Laws of 2015.
However, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Uwadione, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence that brought her before the Court.
The presiding Magistrate, Waliu Salami, granted her bail in the sum of #1m with two sureties in like sum who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The Court also ordered that one of the sureties should be a blood relation of the defendant, whose addresses must also be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 18th September, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
