A 35-year old lady, Chioma Nwaeze, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly using razor blade to inflict deep injury on her rival, Jennifer Iheanacho, by slicing her face in order to disfigure her permanently.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the lady, Chioma Nwaeze, has been arrested and charged for allegedly attacking and assaulting Jennifer Iheanacho.
The incident happened at Karimu Street, Orile Iganmu area of Lagos, where they reside.
The lady, Chioma Nwaeze, was said to have had a disagreement with her rival over an undisclosed matter, which led to exchange of words. In the process, Chioma went inside her house, brought razor blade and cut Jennifer on the face and her back to disfigure her.
The victim was said to have bled profusely and was rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment while the matter was reported to the Police at Orile Division. Police operatives then arrested the lady, Chioma and detained her at the station for interrogation over her alleged conduct.
After thorough nterrogation, the Police found her culpable for her conduct and consequently charged her before the Ebute Metta Magistrate Court for the alleged assault, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
However, she pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector Ejembi Adelowo, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.O.Ikobayo, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
