A 35-year old lady, Nonye Ezeh, has been arrested for allegedly aiding her friend, Itohan Enabunlele, evade arrest.
The suspect, Nonye, was said to have entered into trouble after she failed to provide her friend, Itohan, when the Police needed her attention.
In August, 2017, P.M.EXPRESS had reported how one of Nonye’s neighbours, Mrs. Bola Adelusi, alleged that her friend, Itohan, was into an indecent relationship with her 23-year old daughter by engaging her in a lesbian relationship and then reported the matter to the Police.
The Police then concluded that she will be charged for conduct likely to cause breach of public peace by engaging the 23-year old Tope Adelusi in lesbian acts.
The family of Itohan’s daughter also accused her of exposing their 6-year old child to her lesbian relationship to Miss Tope.
During that period, 3 of Itohan’s female friends, who were mentioned as accomplices, were arrested by the Police and later charged to Court.
Itohan, apprehensive of arrest by the Police, was said to have moved out of Nonye Ezeh’s apartment. Nonye was later contacted by the Police to disclose her friend’s whereabouts as she was expected to make further statements in order for the Police to ascertain if she actually engaged the 23-year old in any lesbian act or was actually a lesbian.
After several invitations, Nonye failed to disclose her friend’s whereabouts. The law enforcement agents then went after Miss Nonye Ezeh so that she can provide her friend. The Police went to Nonye’s known residential address at Ojodu Berger area of Lagos, only to discover that she had secretly packed her belongings and left the place.
After evading arrest over a long period of time, the long arm of the law caught up with her in Offa, from where she was brought back to Lagos.
During interrogation, Nonye narrated that she left her house and went into hiding because she could no longer access her friend and did not know her whereabouts. She confirmed that she was aware her friend was a lesbian but denied intentionally aiding her to evade arrest, being a lesbian partner or being a lesbian herself as alleged.
The Investigating Police Officer has confirmed that the case file will be charged to court very soon as P.M.EXPRESS gathered.
