A 50-year old woman, Folashade Fabowumi, displayed unusual physical strength in Lagos by engaging a man, Olatunde Coker, and beating him mercilessly during public brawl.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ifelodun Street, Ejigbo area of Lagos, where they reside.
The beating, which attracted the attention of their neighbours, even surprised the victim, Olatunde, how Folashade managed to over run him during the squabble. Their neighbours were also surprised and never knew that Folashade had such enormity of strength.
It was gathered that Folashade and Olatunde had a disagreement over an undisclosed matter which led to public squabble. During the squabble, she reportedly grabbed Olatunde, first slapped to disorganize him, battered and tore his clothes publicly before he was rescued.
The helpless Olatunde, who was speechless over the assault, went to the Police at Ejigbo Division and reported the alleged assault. The suspect, Folashade, was then arrested and detained at the Police Station for interrogation.
The suspect was said to have been tongue-lashed at the station for beating the suspect in such manner in public and the Police found her culpable.
She was later charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates Court and she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Kenneth Asibor, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since the defendant pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mr. T.O Shomade, granted Folashade bail in the sum of N20,000 with one surety in like sum.
However, she was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail conditions. The matter was adjourned till 21st October, 2019.
