A 27-year old lady Miracle Unaegbu has landed in trouble in Lagos after she reportedly targeted her landlord, Mr. Ogboju Christopher and attempted to poison his food over electricity bill.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Olatunde Street, off Alli Dada Street, Ago Okota, Lagos where they resided.
It was gathered that the suspect and the landlord had disagreements over electricity bills. She claimed that the landlord had always collected money from the tenants for electricity bills but never paid the money to the electricity company. Thus, the tenants were subjected to constant disconnection of their supply wires over the debt and she had to challenge him.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the disagreements became worse after the landlord claimed that Unaegbu had targeted and attempted to poison him through food but that he narrowly escaped.
The matter was reported to the police at Ago Division and she was arrested. But the police did not disclose how Unaegbu managed to have access to Christopher’s food to poison it. However, the police found her culpable.
She was charged before Isolo Magistrates court for threatening the life of her landlord.
She pleaded not guilty.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Teluwo granted her bail in the sum of N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
The prosecutor, Mr. Oje Uagbale did not object her being granted bail.
She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition.
