A 24-year old lady, Cynthia Sunday has landed in prison after she was arrested for allegedly hiding a suspected criminal lover in her room apartment.
The incident happened at Bakare Ajayi Close in Isheri Oshun area in the outskirts of Lagos where she resided.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Cynthia had kept her lover inside her apartment from where he moved to rob the residents and brought the proceeds to her.
It was gathered that their neighbours had been suspicious of their activities in the area and discussed the matter in their absence before the recent one happened.
However, trouble started when Cynthia’s lover burgled her neighbour’s apartment, one Usman Isiaka, stole money and hid inside Cynthia’s apartment.
Meanwhile, the neighbours who had been suspecting the lover confronted her, went inside her apartment and saw the suspect where she hid him under the bed.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Cynthia hid the suspect under her bed and aided his escape with the money he stole from Isiaka before the police from Isheri Olofin Division arrived. She was subsequently arrested and detained at the police station to produce the suspect and the money he stole to no avail.
She was charged for conspiracy and stealing before the Magistrates court sitting in Ejigbo, Lagos.
She pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.K.J. Layeni granted her bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 28 February, 2018.
