A lady, Oladunni Tope, has landed in trouble in Lagos after she reportedly carried hot beans, which she was still cooking, emptied the hot content on a man’s body and he was badly injured.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Ayinla Akinshola Street in Iyana Ipaja area of Lagos where they reside.
The Police did not state what caused the fight between Tope and the victim, Sulaiman Olarewaju, which prompted her to do so. But it was gathered that they had a disagreement over an undisclosed matter and in anger, Tope carried the beans, poured it on him and injured him in the process.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment and the matter was reported to the Police at Ipaja Division. The suspect, Tope, was then arrested and detained at the police station.
The lady claimed that the victim, Olarewaju, provoked her and she did not know when she carried the pot of beans and poured on him.
The Police found her culpable and later charged before the Ogba Magistrates Court for assault by causing bodily injury on the victim.
She pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Supol Ezekiel Ayorinde, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove the matter before the Court.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O Osunsanmi, granted Tope bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.
She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail conditions. The matter was adjourned till 21st August, 2019.
