A 16-year old boy, Chidera Ngwuh, is lying critically ill in a Lagos hospital after a lady, Miss Cecilia Alive, stabbed him with a broken bottle and ripped open his stomach.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 28th May, 2018, at about 11am at Akinkunmi Street in Itire area of Lagos where they resided. Cecilia was said to have escaped and went into hiding after the attack.
The cause of the fight was not disclosed by the police but it was stated that the suspect broke a bottle and stabbed the victim and his intestine popped out. He was said to have bled profusely and was rushed to an undisclosed Lagos hospital where the doctors were battling to save his life.
The matter was reported to the police. The police went after her and she was arrested where she was hiding. Cecilia was later charged before Isolo Magistrates court for attempted murder.
She pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Rita Momah, informed the court that the fate of the victim was uncertain over the attack as he was lying critical ill at the hospital. She asked the court to use its discretion in considering granting her bail because the suspect might escape.
However, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kunbeje, granted her bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties with other conditions attached.
She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
The matter was adjourned till 30th July, 2018.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the matter came up at the court almost the same period another lady was arraigned for using a kitchen knife to stab a man over an undisclosed disagreement in the same area.
