CYRIACUS IZUEKWE
These days it appeared that women were becoming more violent as many cases of brutal attack on men have been reported and some even resulted in deaths over a period in Lagos.
P.M.EXPRESS had reported about the female lawyer who bought a kitchen knife, used it to kill her husband and cut off his private part over alleged infidelity. The latest involved a 38-year old Felicia Owoyemi, who was arrested for attempted murder after she used a similar knife to stab and attempted to kill one Peter Bamgboye.
The incident happened at Adesanya Street, Lawanson in Itire area of Lagos where they resided.
Felicia was said to have failed to achieve her target as Mr. Bamgboye survived after he was rushed to a hospital and revived after he had lost much blood due to bleeding.
The cause of the fight was not disclosed as the police alleged that the suspect used a kitchen knife to stab the victim at his back which caused a deep injury before he was rushed to an undisclosed hospital. The suspect was arrested by the police at Itire Division and charged before Isolo Magistrates court for attempted murder
When the embittered Felicia was arraigned in court, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Rita Momah, informed the court that the victim was still at the hospital as the doctors were battling to save his life.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenje granted Felicia bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties and other bail conditions attached.
She was remanded in prison custody pending when she will fulfill her bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 6th August, 2018.
