A lady, identified simply as Jessica, who lodged in a popular hotel in Lagos, has been found dead in her hotel room suspected to have been strangled by an unidentified person.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the popular Southbound Hotel in Morogbo area of Lagos.
The deceased may have strangulated following what the Police saw when they visited the scene of the incident.
This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana. He said that on 9th August, 2019, at about 1400hours, Morogbo Police Station received information that one Jessica, a female lodger in Southbound Hotel, Morogbo, was found dead in her hotel room.
DSP Elkana said that the Police dispatched Homicide Detectives to the scene and the corpse of the deceased person was found on the bed facing up with a swollen face and foam-like fluid coming out of her mouth. He described that her throat was knotted with clothes suggesting that she might have been strangulated because her blood stains were all over the place.
The corpse was evacuated to the mortuary for autopsy while the scene was preserved for forensic analysis.
According to DSP Elkana, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Zubairu Muazu, has ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, to take over the case and unravel the circumstances behind the lady’s death.
