Lagos State Government has commenced the enforcement operations for the automation of gaming platforms in the state from Friday, April 5.
Mr. Oluwaseun Anibaba, the General Manager, Lagos State Lotteries Board, disclosed this during a press interview.
He said the exercise seeks to ensure compliance with an earlier directive to all pool betting promoters to automate their betting operations by April 1, 2019.
Anibaba said any pool promoter/agent caught using paper coupon will face sanctions, stressing that it is essential for stakeholders and the public to conform with the gaming laws to achieve the desired objective and vision for the Lagos State Gaming industry.
The Lotteries Board boss affirmed that the State Lotteries Board remains committed to regulating the industry in line with the provisions of the Lagos State Lotteries Law 2004 (as amended).
According to him, “The essential function includes the regulation of all gaming activities in the State; protection of stakeholders and the public through open door policies that comprises of access to information, timely dispute resolution, promoting and ensuring conducive business environment for stakeholders and embarking on projects to improve the standard of living of residents of Lagos State”.
He, therefore, enjoined all stakeholders to cooperate with the LSLB to achieve the desired growth in the gaming industry.
