Founder of Iganmu Football Club, Abayomi Egbayelo has urged his players to try their best to go far in the ongoing Winners Golden Bet Lagos State Challenge Cup.
Egbayelo said the FA Cup is a big football competition and tasked his players to take the game one after the other.
“I have told the players and coaching crew to take the game one after the other. FA Cup would be a different experience for most of our young and new players. If we can go beyond the semi-final, it is great for the team,” he said
Iganmu would commence their campaign in the second round of the competition. The Lagos amateur one club has been playing a series of friendly matches in preparation for Lagos FA Cup.
Egbayelo admitted that the FA Cup would be tough for teams that are not prepared and admonished is players to shun any form of social vices that can reduce their performance.
He said with the calibre of players the club recruited, he is optimistic that Iganmu FC would shock many clubs and prayed for injury-free and wished his team the best of luck in their outing.
Meanwhile the title sponsor, Winners Golden Bet has announced the sum of 1million naira for the winners with a giant trophy, while the first runner up would go home with the sum of N500,000 in the male category.
In the female category, winners would pocket the sum of N500, 000, while the first runner up would receive N300, 000. All the quarter-finalists would be kitted by the title sponsor in the quarter-final stage.
