As we look forward to the 2025 Local Government elections in Lagos State, the people of Lagos Island Local Government have set their minds and are whispering to express franchise for the right man to replicate the national agenda of Renewed Hope to the grassroots governance.
This writer inclusive believe that local democracy is for local development. A grassroots politician, who is well-connected to the people’s heart, is the present Executive Vice Chairman, Lagos Island Local Government, Prince Muhammed Rosul Eshilokun.
The man, Rosul Eshilokun, is well qualified and experienced with both legislative and executive leadership position, which will unlock new developments in our grassroots democracy for the greatest number of people in Lagos Island with Renewed Hope in 2025.
Rosul Eshilokun has worked closely with three previous Executive Chairmen since 1999 till date at Lagos Island Local Government – Hon Lookman Ajose, Hon Wasiu Sanni Eshilokun, and Hon Prince Tijani Adetoyese Olusi, in different capacities.
With the understanding of grassroots governance and challenges confronting residents of the premier of lsland, Rosul Eshilokun has decided to draft a blueprint of what his administration will do effectively if elected as the next Council Chairman come 2025 with his programme tagged Technology, Health, Education, Environment, Security (T.H.E.E.S).
To make Lagos lsland take its place as the leading premier Local Government in terms of 21st century grassroots developmental strides, Rosul has carefully thought-out the manifesto’s priorities when the writer visited him recently in his office. It was a fruitful time with him as the writer left convinced after the discussion on how he intends to use “community renewed participatory engagement” to drive human developmental goals and prosperities of lslanders.
Today, Rosul Eshilokun is regarded as one of the most recognised, well-groomed and intelligent men that can unlock the politics of reforms in Lagos Island Local Council that people are yearning for.
With empirical facts, the issues seen and heard on the streets of Lagos Island are simple and germane, which is about issues and not individuals. The issue is: Who is experienced enough and possesses the brain and charisma to unlock the greatest opportunity for the greatest number of people in Island politics? The answer is simple – Prince Muhammed Rosul Eshilokun.
Rosul Eshilokun, if he assumes office as the next Executive Chairman of Lagos Island Local Government, is expected to invest and re-engineer social amenities that will improve the quality of life at grassroots level.
He will expectedly reprioritise entrepreneurship with 21st century digital skills, redevelope primary health centres and provide universal primary basic education with standard equipment. He will also keep the young ones off the streets with recreational centers to boost community engagement.
Rosul Eshilokun’s brain is already a library of the policies with visions of Renewed Hope implementation templates on what needs to be done urgently in reconstruction/rehabilitation of roads, environmental degradation, security, and transportation roadmap on the streets of the lsland.
Rosul Eshilokun is the politician, who has consistently acknowledged and believes to make things work for the yearning of the people in Lagos Island. Our leaders therefore, must rise to the occasion and give the cap to the man who is fit to wear it.
