A Lagos lawmaker who is representing Mushin constituency II in Lagos State House of Assembly, Honourable Abdulsobour, Olayiwola Olawale is planning to organize first ever Athletic Marathon tagged ’Mushin Marathon 2022’
This was disclosed by the Chairman Organising Planning Committee, Bolaji Jenkeo in a chat with Journalists in Lagos. Jenkeo said they have held a meeting with the lawmaker and he was interested to sponsor the marathon race scheduled to hold on May.
“I just held a meeting with Honourable Olawale and he was moved to sponsor the competition. He was interested to commit his resources to the marathon event and he tasked us to ensure that all arrangements should be put in place before the May,” he said.
Jenkeo revealed that the marathon would bring sports development in Mushin saying that the one day event would promote unity, friendliness and love among the youth not only in Mushin but Lagos as a whole.
He said the planning committee has embarked on publicity awareness and many youths in Mushin and its environs are looking forward to the event. He said the marathon is the first of its kind in Mushin and promised to organize a memorable marathon event.
“I have started talking to those that would involve in the marathon and I am quite impressed with the outcome of their responses. They have given us their unalloyed support during and after the event,” he said.
