As part of activities to celebrate its Diamond Jubilee anniversary, the United African Methodist Church (UAMC), Surulere in conjunction with Lagos PDG Yinka Bolarinwa Lions Club of Lions Club International District 404B3 will be having a Medical Outreach for the public.

According to the Local Lay President of the Church, Aremo Ladi Ogunbiyi, the program is one of the activities planned for the celebration of the Diamond Jubilee Anniversary of the Church.

The event is coming up on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at the church premises at No. 10, Joseph Shyngle Close off James Robertson Street, Surulere between 10am and 2pm.

Aremo Ogunbiyi said: “We look back at what the Lord has done for us in our Church and we decided to give back to the general public from what we’ve benefited from God.

“Nothing is too much to give thanks to God for all His mercies over us and this is why we are doing this in conjunction with Lagos PDG Yinka Bolarinwa Lions Club who are also carrying out vision related activities this month to let the general public be part of our celebration”, he said.

According to Aremo Ogunbiyi, the Medical Outreach will include eye tests and medications; free eye glasses; free eye drops, diabetes checks; high blood pressure check and general medical services to members of the Church and the general public.

Aremo Ogunbiyi used the opportunity to express appreciation to their main sponsor – Dortemag Ventures Limited for sponsoring and supporting the programs.

He also expressed gratitude to the President of the Club – Lion Adeola Olatunbosun Esq, a retired Chief Magistrate (Admin) for all the support and assistance rendered.

Lion Deola stated that Lions are known as Knights of the blind and that since this month focuses on vision related activities, the club is happy to collaborate with UAMC by reaching out to those sight impaired in our community.

Aremo went further: “On Sunday, November 1, we will give thanks to God Almighty with our Annual Harvest Thanksgiving where several men of God will be attending to round off the celebration”.

“The Lay President of our Organisation – the UAMC Organisation in person of Chief Dapo Ogunlewe will be attending the Medical Outreach as well as the Harvest Thanksgiving alongside other dignitaries already invited”, Aremo Ogunbiyi added.
