The Lagos State Government is set to train Nigeria Police personnel attached to the Lagos State Task Force on ‘Active Combating and Readiness’.

The training programme which would be in 4 batches is set to commence tomorrow (Monday, 30th of July, 2018) at Police Training School, Ikeja, Lagos.

The Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi disclosed that as crime become more complex, the officers charged with enforcing our laws must be open to new and constantly evolving policing philosophies.

He disclosed further that the training programme would help Officers to override natural inclinations, biases or reservation they encounter while in the performance of their duty.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Edgal Imohimi, commended Governor Akinwunmi Ambode for supporting security personnel with modernised equipment and relevant training programme.

CP Edgal Imohimi disclosed that adequate  training and provisions of modernised security equipment by the government had brought about massive reduction in the rate of crime across the State.

According to the CP “the very nature of policing requires officers to interact with the general public, and they should have problem-solving skills, while being polite and professional at the same time”

The Commissioner of Police however mandated all officers divided into different batches to fully participate at the training programme

The training programme which will be in 4 batches will last for one month and will be coordinated by Lateral Techniques Company and Senior Instructors from the Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU) and Police Mibile Force (PMF).
